First Glance Of Bcitma
Clubs Day
Clubs Day was a huge success with a turnout of over 400 attendees! Thanks to our VP of Membership, Alexa Slipec, and the help from other BCITMA executive members, this led to over 150 sign-ups for BCITMA alone, upholding the position as the largest student-led club at BCIT.
Mix & Mingle
To break the ice and welcome our First-Year students, our Events Committee hosted the Mix & Mingle event! There were over 40 students connecting, vibing, and most importantly, having fun!
BCITMA loves bringing students and the club together through fun events like this! We are really thankful to everyone who joined in. You being there and taking part made this event one to remember. We want to give a big thanks to our VP of Events, Rena Dacua, for planning such a great get-together.
Mentorship
On October 4, we had an amazing turnout at our first mentorship event. As a result, BCITMA’s Mentorship Committee recruited a total of 28 mentors and 18 mentees.
Second-year students were partnered with first-year students to give guidance on the new year. The event was hosted to answer any questions about the BCIT business program and connect first-year students with mentors ready to lend a helping hand.
Big thanks to all the mentors and mentees of our new 2023/2024 mentorship community! Shout out to our VP of Mentorship, Tizita Mogren for organizing such a successful event!
BOOS & BREWS
BCITMA partnered with Twelve West to host the “Boos & Brews” event at the night club. The Halloween bash was another successful event organized by the Events Committee that drew a crowd of over 115 attendees. The atmosphere was buzzing, the costumes were creative, and the brews were definitely flowing. Everyone had a fantastic time, and it is safe to say that this event has set a high bar for future gatherings.
We can’t wait to see what the Events Committee has planned for us next!
Schmoozapalooza 2024
Along with Emily Campbell, our VP of Schmooze we have Tatyanna Fontaine as our director of marketing, Tina Nguyen as our director of event logistics, Stephanie Somerville as our director of Schmooze 101, Dorothy Poon as our director of speedmentoring, Katie Huynh as our director of volunteers, Eunice Choi as our director of Sponsorship, and Briana Chamberlin as our Creative Director.
We are still looking for first-year student volunteers for the day of the event!
The Schmoozapalooza is the biggest industry-level networking event for the Digital Marketing & Brand Strategy students. The event is known for second-year Digital Marketing & Student to not only network, but also secure internships. Last year the event had a turnout of 250+ attendees that included marketing industry professionals and BCIT students.
