February 2012: The Digital Shift

Hosted by Bob Kronbauer, Founder of Vancouver is Awesome (V.I.A.)

In the last few years, a shift has become more and more evident in Marketing and Advertising. This shift has taken a lot of battle-hardened marketers by surprise, as their traditional tactics fit like square pegs into the round holes of the online, socially responsive world.

But their time is not over, no – their role has simply changed. The world that was once controlled by the makers of the message is gone, and brands are now at the whim of their consumers. This change – this Digital Shift – is something that will not go away. In fact, the change is happening faster everyday.

Event Details:

  • February 8th at 6pm sharp
  • Guilt & Co. in Gastown (1 Alexander Street, under Chill Winston)
  • Admission with a $15 donation to the BCITMA at the door
  • Tweet questions you have ahead of time using #digitalshift

The event will be followed by live folk music, good times and of course – board games.

The Digital Shift is pleased to announce the host and speakers of the February 2012 lineup. The event’s theme, “Brand Management through Social Media”, was a topic selected as a direct reflection of how brands are changing right before our eyes.
